Back to Work Today
9/14/23 Weight: 153.6 Hours of 5.5 Sleep:
As I head back to work for the next two days, I reflect on my day 3/day off work.
Sadly, I couldn't sleep in. Getting old stinks. I did manage 7-7/5 hours of sleep. How is the ungodly hour of 5:30am sleeping in? Stupid bladder. Seriously thinking a catheter might be nice. Decided I would just commit to the day and drank two cups of coffee.
I downed a banana and headed out to run. I have a 10K Sunday over a gianormous bridge. Not sure what I was thinking. Now I just want to finish before they close the course (2 hour max). I ran the first mile, then ran walked the next two. Took about 42 minutes for 3 miles, so I should finish. Knowing I am going to blog about it is motivating. Still pretty warm and moist outside. Not sure when fall may hit. I like our neighborhood running trail because I see a lot of the same people on the route.
Had some egg beaters and fruit, then heading to the gym. It is always interesting the mix of people there. From the meatheads to the silver sneakers, everyone doing their thing. Did about 30 minutes of weight training, then rewarded myself with the blissful massage chair. Dude next to me facetiming. Come on man, I am trying to go to my zen place.
Rest of my day just chilled and caught up on stuff around the house. Stayed within my points and drank all my water. Feeling so much better. So much less puffy.
I did treat myself to my route 44 coke zero from Sonic. I think the carhop and I are on a first name basis.
Trying to keep a positive attitude for work today. The elite group at work tends to treat me like I don't know anything and I am not trusted with really "sick" kids. I secretly laugh at them....1. I have been a nurse longer than most of them have been alive. 2. I make almost twice a much as some of them. 3. I know and have seen a lot more stuff than them. and most importantly 4. My nursing care in impeccable and my families see how much I care. I will not let work derail me anymore. I will focus on what is important and let the rest be noise.
Jill, you are amazing. I know I could not do your job. I can work 12 to14 hours at a computer for less pay than you. Did for years. Now I work part time & take my pseudo husband to doctors appts. Confirmed today. Rusty has Parkinson's. Not a surprise. Been watching it progress for a year. He is good at walking 2 to 4 miles a day. Now that it is cooler, I am joining him. I need it and he should be accompanied.
ReplyDeleteI am struggling to drink enough. But did walk 2.5 + miles today. Need more. Didn't weight today.
